Blood Freak

the only thing more scary than a blood thirsty biker who turns into a turkey thats a druggy slasher, is the acting. the finest 1972 had to offer for sure....Yes I said he turns into a killer turkey, not a turkey killer.

Sunday pt. 1

so my wife surprised me on Sunday by having a bunch of our friends show up at our house for a ride to Ojai, I had no idea where we were going, but we ended up at a private motorcycle museum that's shown by appointment. Guy, who owns the collection, has mostly vintage Italian racing bikes, but also had a bunch of other cool shit. Including some veteran F1 racing champs, and a Lola raced by Paul Newman. Malcolm McDowall even showed up towards the end....weird. Then we headed to the Dear Lodge for lunch, and skull caps and chaps are still in fashion, but no one forwarded me the memo....rode to the beach through oxnard after, and met some friends at Neptunes Net and people watched till sunset, some Dykes on Bykes were there, sweet.

memorial ride for Stuart "The Rev" Munger

went on a ride on Saturday to Lake Casitas to celebrate the life of Stewart Munger, Indian rider and honest to God one of a kind who lived his life as he saw fit, and a great friend by all accounts. I kinda tagged along on my sporty, since most of the riders were on pre war stuff. It was a pretty amazing collection of old iron, including a few Harley JD's, one of which was a twin cam racer, some nice Indian Chiefs, and an absolutely gorgeous Crocker.

taking shape...

dragged my Freddy frame, springer, and some wheels & tires I had to the shop, and a wassel tank I just picked up in Bakertucky...kind of starting to look like something....It will have to sit for a while though, I have too many customers cars and deadlines to meet, to be fucking around with it right now.

Buell in a box

so i just picked up an '03 buell XB9 motor for a project I have been wanting to build for a while. I have a single downloop Freddy Hernandez frame and Freddy Hernandez springer, set up for an evo sporty drivetrain. Been collecting parts for a while and just needed to find the right donor for the power. I originally wanted a Sportster based Buell motor so it would be an easy bolt in thing. But The more I thought about the factory dropping Buell, the more I wanted to build it around a Buell based powerplant. I guess it's my little way of saying "Fuck You" to the Mothership. So this XB9 motor keeps popping up on Craigslist from NorCal with paperwork, frame, wiring harness(clean title), but I want a 1200, the price drops a little and then the ad disappears and I'm kicking myself for not calling. Then the ad shows up again, and yesterday I call and the guy asks for a small deposit and drives all the way down with it today for a small fee, numbers matching, ready to go. now all I need to do is make new motor mounts, and figure out if I wanna deal with Fuel Injection or bolt a carb on it. I'll post pics as soon as I start tearing into it. Buell is dead, Long live Buell.

I dont wanna pickle......

I was looking for some stuff about Woody Guthrie, the depression era, folk singer, and found a cool pic of his son Arlo(I don't want a pickle, I just wanna ride my motorsickle) Guthrie, riding a Triumph Scrambler and the pic was taken in '69. I guess even hippies do cool shit sometimes.....I wonder if he was shroomin?
