total bummer...

just found out a few hours ago that Harley is ceasing to make Buells anymore. It's sad to see so many things that we take for granted go by the wayside. Also, just a reminder that we should be trying to buy american whenever we can, pretty soon everything we consume will be made somewhere else. Here's Erik's '88 AMA racer.....

Buell Blast

After buying my wife a used blast to learn to ride on, and tearing around the neighborhood on it while I was fixing some stuff, I decided I had to have one too. I did a bunch of stuff to it, clip ons, chopped tail section, rearsets, etc...and then I came accross an old Yamaha gas tank at the El Camino swap and proceeded to dismember the Buell beyond recognition....this is where it sits now, I still have alot of work to go....

my favorite car ever....

The 1938 Phantom Corsair prototype. I'm not sure that this car would be my favorite if I was seeing it today for the first time, but I have dreamt about this car since I first saw it as a little kid, and it ranks so high on my list for probably this reason alone, nostalgia. Although, it is pretty fuckin badass....it's based on a Cord platform, with a V8 Lycoming engine, 4 speed automatic gearbox, independent suspension, etc etc. In other words it was way ahead of it's time. It was designed in part by Rust Heinz, but never made it to production. I think it's part of the Harrah's collection now. I've never seen it in person, but I guess I'll put that on my bucket list....

MOTORHEAD

last night. Nashville Pussy, Rev Horton hears a Who, and MOTORHEAD, with a surprise appearance by Jack Black in prosthetic arms, performing a special ode to the roadie. All in all a good time, although Lemmy didn't do "We are the Road Crew" "Rock & Roll" or "Iron Horse"....still I am stone deaf in the USA now, I must be OLD. I caught a few pics on my iPhone, and even some video, but I'm too retarded to put video here....
